The Tidy Shelf

The ten-minute evening reset

· Hannah Moore

Most mornings go wrong the night before. Shoes in the hallway, yesterday’s mugs by the sink, a bag that still needs packing. None of it is a big job, but together it makes for a slow, cluttered start.

What has worked best for us is a short reset before bed. Set a timer for ten minutes and stop when it rings, even if you’re not done. The point is to keep it so small that you never skip it.

After a week or two it stops feeling like a chore. You wake up to a space that’s ready for you.
